Microbusiness Mastery, Motivation, and Inspiration

with 3 comments

I have been reflecting on where I’ve been as a microbusiness entrepreneur and where I am as I move forward in this new year.

river of life Last year was an intense practice in “identity transition”.

I had long identified myself with what I had accomplished in my field and how many compliments I received from other people. That went out the window overnight when I became a new mom.

I had no idea that 20-minute-push, however physically taxing and painful, was the easiest part of childbirth. The parenthood journey that defined me from that moment onward was, and will be my test of character. I went from what felt like “all the time in the world” to “barely enough time to eat and sleep”.

Last year, I Struggled for Significance in the Subtle.

This year, I continue my journey as a microbusiness entrepreneur and strategist by focusing on Microbusiness Mastery, Motivation, and Inspiration.

There are bountiful blogs and books that will help you start a business and succeed in your business. I won’t rehash what you can get out there, virtually or otherwise. What I want to do is to connect with the Individual that defines each of us, and align our personal growth and transition with our microbusiness growth and transition. I am looking for Microbusiness Mastery based on Freedom.

I don’t have the luxury of doing the same business in the same way for 5 years without having to either reinvent myself or reapply what has worked for me in a new microbusiness. Now that I have a young child and a strong desire to be with my child, I have wrestled with major business decisions and confronted crossroads I never imagined I’d face.

Microbusiness mastery is about personal mastery first, then strategically maneuver microbusiness directions with value-based decisions.

mastermind motivation inspirationMicrobusiness mastery requires both Motivation and Inspiration.

Motivation comes from external engines –
peer groups with similar values –
people I can collaborate with and be energized by.
People I like, respect, and trust.

Inspiration comes from the internal source –
ideas that come from deep reaches of silence –
decisions made through my Heart Mind.
Authenticity that defines me and is defined by me.

Microbusiness motivation is what I may provide to you as mentor and colleague.
Microbusiness inspiration is what you draw from within, from your authentic self.
Microbusiness mastery is a journey we can travel together, wherever our paths take us.

Where has your microbusiness journey taken you?
Where do you want your entrepreneurial path to go now?

  1. I found your blog on stumbleupon and i really like it. Also, i’m following you on Twitter =D

I’ve recently (few months) started my own blog which I would refer to as a microbusiness. So far i’ve been feeling the hardships that entrepreneurs feel when they first start a business and it’s been a really rewarding experience as I wouldn’t have been able to know this by reading a text book.

Looking forward, I would really hope for my blog to expand. After all, isn’t that what business partially about? Expansion?

    Thanks

  2. Thank you for visiting my blog and for following me on Twitter, Trevor! I applaud you for creating a blog based business. You mentioned that part of business is about expansion. What are the other parts of running a business (other than expansion) are you discovering to be important?

  3. I do think that we need to weigh family life and business life. Humans are made for deep relationships. Without them, we are never really successful. I read an interesting article that articulates this idea pretty well. Take a peek at http://knol.google.com/k/pat-parlsom/only-one-business-life-to-live/3djifv0fcvlj/28# .
