I suspect that the volunteer mentors have done their fair share of wishful thinking and unrealistic expectations, and may want others to avoid unnecessary disappointment.

The only possible drawback may be that a too &quot;harsh&quot; (blunt) approach may end up discouraging some completely away from following through on their ventures.</description>
